I hope that you have had a nice summer holidays.
In 2Y2 we expect superstar behaviour at all times and children will be working hard to earn some exciting new rewards throughout the year.
In Literacy children will be working hard on their phonic skills for reading and writing every day. They will also be completing some extended pieces of writing based on our school topic ‘Royals and Rebels’.
In Maths children will be working on number and place value, shape, space and measure, data handling and problem solving in a variety of ways.
Our school topic is Royals and Rebels and our focus in Year 2 is Queen Elizabeth I and castles. We will be going on a trip later in the term to visit a castle and find out what life was like in castles.
Within Science we will be looking at materials and how we use them. We will also be designing an outfit for Elizabeth I or a knight at the castle.
We will be reading different Roald Dahl books as a class this term including The Twits and The Enormous Crocodile.
We look forward to many new challenges and lots of fun this half term.
