Wow, I can’t believe we are already into Summer 2! I continue to be impressed on a daily basis at how well the children are succeeding!
Last half term we went out with a bang! We won the Wacky races!! I've attached our race onto a video link just above- make sure to check it out!
We have seen a big improvement on attendance this half term- please can we continue this and help us make sure children are in school for 9am at the latest.
This half term we have some really exciting things ahead of us. Our Read Write Inc groups continue to be the same with huge improvements all around.
We will be having a big push on home reading- Thank you for your support with our new home reading scheme with Mr Keddie, Please make sure that your child is reading at home- they dont have to read it to anyone just as long as they are reading. The books for Mr Thorpe to change need to be in on a Wednesday. Miss T will also continue to be changing books and reading with home reading books so please make sure that your child brings their books back in to school weekly so we can read with them and change their books.
Spellings will be handed out on a Monday to be tested for on a Friday- Anyone who will get 10/10 will be getting a prize.
Our PE days will continue to be Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Even though it is approaching the summer lessons with continue to be outside so we would advise some jogging bottoms and a sweatshirt and trainers for outside PE lessons. If your child requires an inhaler please make sure they have it in school so they can take it to their PE lessons. Children should also have plasters with them to help cover up earrings that they cannot remove, for the lesson. Sports day is fast approaching so please make sure you keep an eye out for the dates and times nearer the time.
We are having a big push on knowing our timetables; we would really appreciate it if you could help support your child learning these. Times table tests will be on a Friday. (3x, 4x, and 8x tables~) Also any further help with addition and subtraction sums would be much appreciated.
Please check your child’s book bags daily as over the half term as information for all events and activities in and out of school will be sent home.
As always if you have any questions then please don't hesitate to ask myself or any member of staff with this class.
We have some really exciting things ahead this half term which i'm really looking forward to sharing with the children including our Summer carnival end of topic day and the children getting to meet their new year 4 teacher- Letters will be handed out this Friday to advise you who your child's new teacher will be.
