I hope you all had a fantastic half term break. I would like to take this opportunity to remind you how important attendance is in ensuring your child continues make progress. We are all really impressed with how enthusiastic and hard working the children have been since they returned to school. Keep up the good work!
We are having a big push on knowing our timetables and would really appreciate it if you could help support your child in learning these at home.
Our last term is looking very exciting!
For our final topic we will be learning all about life in Hungary. We will be finding out about such things as where Hungary is, what the flag looks like, the clothes that are worn, food that is eaten, what the houses are like. We will be researching about the Danube and different mountain ranges.
Our topic will finish with an extremely exciting whole school 'carnival day'. Lots of fun activities have been planned for this day. The children will have the chance to sample foods from other countries, as we visit different classes and discover which country they have been learning about.
If you have not already, please can you send a plastic water bottle in to school for your child.
Welcome to Class 3G3!
Wow, I can’t believe we are already into summer 1- the year has gone so fast. I am super impressed with all the effort the children have put into their work over the past few terms. It is fantastic to watch them growing and developing as independent young minds.
We have seen a big improvement on attendance this half term- please can we continue this and help us make sure children are in school for 9am at the latest.
Thank you for all your support with the play it was lovely to see all your faces there supporting and cheering your children on. We were so impressed with all their efforts and cannot express how happy we were with how hard they all worked on the play.
This half term we have some really exciting things ahead of us. Our Read Write Inc groups continue to be the same with huge improvements all around. We will be having a big push on home reading- We are piloting a home reading scheme with Mr Keddie where your child will be able to have a book home twice a week where they can read to yourselves, aunties, uncles etc. even just reading it on their own. Mr Thorpe will be calling them out each morning to see if they need to change their books.
Our PE days will continue to be Tuesday and Fridays. Even though it is approaching the summer lessons with continue to be outside so we would advise some jogging bottoms and a sweatshirt and trainers for outside PE lessons. If your child requires an inhaler please make sure they have it in school so they can take it to their PE lessons. Children should also have plasters with them to help cover up earrings that they cannot remove, for the lesson.
We are having a big push on knowing our timetables; we would really appreciate it if you could help support your child learning these. Also any further help with addition and subtraction sums would be much appreciated.
As always if you have any questions then please don't hesitate to ask myself or any member of staff with this class.
Welcome to Class 3G3!
Welcome back to another busy half term ahead. Our topic for Spring 2 will be Worlds Kitchen. In year 3 we have decided to travel all the way to South America to discover the wonders of the continent. Over the next few weeks we have some very exciting times ahead including a trip to Pizza Express and developing our own Brazilian menu to prepare and serve the rest of the school.
If you have any information or are a keen cook yourself or know of any South American recipes please let us know.
I have attached the new homework log and some websites which you may find interesting and helpful for your homework.
Our PE days will continue to be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. With the cold weather approaching, we would advise jogging bottoms, a sweatshirt and trainers for outdoor PE lessons. Children should also have plasters with them so that they can cover up earrings that they cannot remove for lesson.
Reading books and learning logs will be sent home on Fridays please ensure your child returns them on Monday. We are having a big push on number bonds to 10 and 20; we would really appreciate it if you could support your child learning these. Also, any help with addition or subtraction sums would be much appreciated.
