Reading Tricky Words no

Please find below a list of tricky words (Phase 2) children need to learn in order to achieve the Early Learning Goal for Reading.

Please encourage children to practice both reading and learning how to write these words alongside weekly reading books.

24.04.16 - Early Years Outcome Documentation 

Check out the link below to help support your child's development in all areas of their learning. The main aim is for children to achieve the Early Learning Goal stated in each developmental area by the end of the year. (As previously discussed at parents evening)

Spring 2 

Welcome back RG2! cheeky

I hope you have all had a fun and restful half term and are now back and are ready to start our next topic - Healthy Lifestyles! In this topic we will be exploring different ways of keeping fit and discovering how different countries also do this. We will try and test different exercises such as Yoga. We will also be learning about the Olympics and begin to research the next Olympics held in Rio 2016. We might also hold our very

own mini -Olympics (fingers crossed) if the weather is good to us. no


Here are a couple of polite reminders to ensure your child is fully equipped for the next half term! 

- Full P.E Kit is needed every Thursday - this includes - white polo top, black shorts and either pumps or trainers. 


- Bookbag including reading book and reading record and any library books borrowed in school everyday.

Library books - changed on a Tuesday 

Reading books - changed on a Wednesday 


Please ensure that your child has a spare change of clothes in school in case of any accidents.

Please can you also discuss the importance of children not bringing toys into school or any personal belongings to prevent any upset or issues regarding loosing them or getting broken.

So far this year RG2 have won lots of class treats for great attendance through our Classopoly whole school reward system. It is vital that all children continue to attend school everyday and arrive on time to ensure that we continue to receive lots of exciting prizes and rewards! smiley

Spring 1 Newsletter

Welcome back!

This half term children in RG2 will be learning about;

  • Bonfire Night 
  • Diwali 
  • Remembrance Day 
  • Castles, Knights, Princesses and Dragons 
  • Frozen
  • Christmas 


As stated on the newsletter please ensure that children have a full P.E kit in school on a Friday as RG2 will now be learning P.E on a Friday morning. P.E kits must include a white polo top and black shorts. 


To ensure that all children can take home newsletters, bumped head notes and to change their books weekly please ensure your child brings their bookbag to school everyday. 


We have now started Read Write Inc with children (phonics) please help and support your child at home by using the sheet provided at parents evening to help your child learn the sounds. So far children have learnt the sounds (m, a, s, d, ,t,i ) please help your child to practice saying and writing these sounds. (Children can use their learning logs to practice writing the sounds in).

Reading Books 

I hope that you are enjoying the children bringing stories home to share I know the children are very excited to share them with you! Starting on 28/09/15 children who have brought back previous storybooks will be able to change it on a weekly basis. Library books will be changed every Tuesday please remind children to bring their book bags every day to enable them to bring their books home.
